Legio IX Hispana will be doing a 3 month demonstration and display at THE MUZEO, a brand new museum in Anaheim California, beginning in October, November and December of 2007 and ending the first week of January 2008 in conjunction with a travelling exhibit "Imperial Rome".
Members of Legio IX Hispana from across the USA will be in attendance. This willl be a great opportunity to see a spectacular exhibit and meet us!
Roman soldiers will be in attendance every Saturday and Sunday to interact with the public.
Three military display weekends are:
October 27 - 28
November 10 - 11
December 15 - 16
In addition several weekends are scheduled for specific craft demonstations: leatherwork, weaving, cooking, metal smithing, armor making, weapons making, casting, jewelry making, wood work, painting etc etc
Three to four weekend Market Days are scheduled at which the public can peruse the wares and handcrafts of vendors (vendors should contact me ASAP) In addition the Museo Gift Shop will be professionaly staffed seven days per week. Vendor's merchandise can be available for sale throughout the duration of the Event.
Several "Roman style" booths will be constructed for Vendor's use to be located in The Roman Street where vendors and artisans will ply their wares and demonstrate their craft.
A static Roman soldier display that of a Roman soldier on Campaign, with a complete kit, including a cut away view of a scutum, will be available for the public to view throughout the week.
We will set up a warp weighted loom in the Roman Household section where we wil demonstrate spinning and weaving.
There will be a large bread oven that'll be put to excellent use.
We will set up a forge where we will demonstrate a variety of Roman smithing projects.
A children's hands on display will be available with two sizes of armor for kids to try on.
There will also be several lectures, talks and similar presentations scheduled throughout the event. If you are intersted in participating in this aspect please contact me ASAP.
