Having now read both, I actually prefer Légionnaires et Auxiliaires sous le Haut empire - great pictures, multi period, and very interesting analyses on the changes over time. If you want an indepth review of a 1st century Roman Legionary, go for Le soldat Romain.
I actually regret that I didn't buy both at a discount from Amazon France first off......penny pinching again!
