Hey everyone!
I found this forum a few weeks ago (and fell out of my chair in glee) and finally decided that participating was more fun than lurking. My name is Dan and I'm a history major in college (graduating in the spring) with my focus being Roman history. More specifically, my interest is in late Roman and Eastern cavalry. My horse knowledge is about equal to my Roman cavalry knowledge...I'm a fairly experienced rider and I volunteer for horse rescues. My current task is building a replica Roman saddle included in a larger written project. My professor told me images would suffice, but I protested. She raised an eyebrow and said, "I sense you have your own interests in this?" I looked guilty and she laughed. Luckily the school will contribute a portion of the cost, so I probably won't starve this semester, unless I find some neat books.
So if anyone has questions relating to horses or Roman cavalry, I'd be happy to be of service. I've already lurked most of the applicable threads. If you've got questions relating to anything else, I can't offer any guarantees, but I will do my best to answer well!
