Tom Holland just gave a lecture last week on the battle of Thermopylae at the Society for the Preservation of Greek Heritage, here in Washington DC. I didn't get to attend it myself, but many of my fellow classmates were disappointed because his information seemed to be pretty elementary. I know that one of my professors asked him a question and he was thoroughly stumped. He did mention his book, so I'll see if any of them have read it, and get their opinons on some of his points.
If anyone is in the Washington area, the lectures at the Society for the Preservation of Greek Heritage are normally really good, and some of the best scholars from all over the world attend.
