Ancient Ships as 3D Files
#1
Hi.

I am searching 3D artists who would like to create a large number of 3D models of ancient ships, I can supply all data!

Please contact me.

Sincerely,

Sven Littkowski

Tarbicius,

hi. Thanks for your response. This is a project for my website "Forum Navis Romana", a project of "Terra Romana". There I am establishing databases full of ancient resources with the hope to make maritime archaeology accessable for everyone who is interested.

And the ships I want to show, are there to enthusiast newcomers and to inspire those who are in that science for some time. So far, I did (and still do) many dozens of reconstructional hi-res illustrations of ancient ships (not only Roman).

I personally work with POV-Ray for rendering. But my skills are too poor to create realistic ancient ships, despite of that I have all the resources and knowledge of ancient ships which is possible at the current stage of scientific research results.

That is, why I need someone who is good in 3D modelling, so we can bring the ancient Roman fleets back into life! I also want to create various animations with these models, especially of the oar systems, weapons aboard, sailing scenes and battle scenes. My inspiration and ideas are big enough for many, but my modelling skills are poor and not enough even for only one person (myself), ha ha!..
