Hi guys,
I have a curiosity, there were pattern welded roman knives ?
I have read and seen swords and pugiones the third century with this technique, but I never saw a single edge patterwelded roman knife. Exist? If not, why the Romans were double-edged blades and not patter welded simple knives?
Maybe in the fourth century, after seeing some seax have done something. There are wonderful patter welded seax blades.
I am very interested in this subject but the information is almost always related to sword and pugio, anyone knows specific books on Roman blades?
Hope you understand my english!
