It is reported elsewhere (can't get to the actual report quoted at the moment) that "About a thousand fragments thought to date from around AD120 have been recovered. Experts hope that the entire decorative scheme, believed to have been part of a building demolished after a fire, may eventually be reconstructed."

How appropriate that these were found beneath an Italian restaurant... Big Grin
It does not say whether this was during building/foundation repairs or whether archaeological remains were suspected...
