I have been offered this book

The Armour of the Roman Legions - Robinson & Embleton

Is it any good, I know Embletons painting but not the other guy

Robinson is H. Russell Robinson, godfather of Roman imperial armour and helmet typology and research. You'll find it cited in the bibliographies of many articles and recommended reading lists.

You mean H. Russell Robinson? I think that a nice book to have.

I like Embleton's paintings, even if they were painted a long time ago (he died in 1988).

And if someone offers you H. Russell Robinson 'Armour of Imperial Rome', try showing restraint and not to betray your eagerness to posses it, as it is worth it's weight in gold!

If you like Embleton's work you will also appreciate 'Hadrian's Wall in the days of the Romans' written and published by Frank Graham and lavishly illustrated by Ronald Embleton.

It'd cost a lot to do (photo and illustration rights, royalties, etc) is what I've been told. But you never know.
