The Passion Play.. - Peroni - 04-10-2007 On Friday, we performed the passion play at Bury St Edmunds Cathedral Members of the Colchester Roman Society and guests from the Roman Military Research Society provided the soldiery, and assisted in the ‘kitting-out’ of some church members. It made the BBC news too! A video can be seen here.. http://www.ccmh.org.uk/node/1189 Photos are posted here.. http://impressiveprints.co.uk/churchestogether/ and here.. http://www.ccmh.org.uk/image/tid/40 Re: The Passion Play.. - Martin Wallgren - 04-10-2007 Looks like a good event! Re: The Passion Play.. - Martin Wallgren - 04-10-2007 Quote:Were you crying?! You weren't the one being held down with a hobnailed boot, you know Maybe he´s men congratulated him on a job well done and he got moved! D D Re: The Passion Play.. - Tarbicus - 04-10-2007 Or, "Oooh, that's gotta hurt." Just to add, you all look great, and it's nice to see proper auxilia on the job. Re: The Passion Play.. - Maximio - 04-10-2007 Hang on! If you nailed Christ up then who was it I nailed up on Friday? Just to prove how versatile and vicious the RMRS can be we did the big fella in Leicester as well. Seems there's no where safe for a Galilean Rebel to hang out these days. http://www.christinthecentre.co.uk/ What amazed me was that some individuals in the crowd got really caught up in it. One old lady came up and reverently touched the cross as it was taken through the city, another tried to chastise me for being so cruel to JC. I threatened to cut her throat and I think she believed me  Re: The Passion Play.. - Tarbicus - 04-10-2007 Quote:another tried to chastise me for being so cruel to JC. ROFL! Good man! Just a few years ago I heard that Roman re-enactment in Italy was difficult due to criticism by the the church.. And there was also much hesitation about re-enacting the crucifiction. The blood running freely seems to owe a lot to Mel Gibson.. And what's that? Leather armour??? hock: |
