Belts on Auxiliae! - Martin Wallgren - 03-23-2007

Most of the Aux. on TC don´t appear to have belts over armour! Is there any evidence of belts being worn over armour by Aux. troops? How about other depictions of Aux?

Re: Belts on Auxiliae! - Peroni - 03-24-2007

The Rhineland tombstones of auxiliary infantry soldiers depicted in undress kit all have very elaborate belts and some have double-belts. Aprons are 'en vogue' too

Later depictions on TC and the Adamklissi metopes seem to have forgotten to add belts! Try weraing mail without a belt and you'll see just how difficult and annoying it can be!
