Re: who makes a 4thc spatha? - LUCIUS ALFENUS AVITIANUS - 03-13-2007 I think 400 euro for a sword it's a reasonable price. Re: who makes a 4thc spatha? - FAVENTIANVS - 03-14-2007 Indeed! The Roman riding sword! I didn't notice it was so cheap!!! Re: who makes a 4thc spatha? - Chuck Russell - 03-14-2007 ya i guess 527.95 usd isnt that bad for a sword. its less than an albion yet not much more than a del tin. hmmmmmm Re: who makes a 4thc spatha? - Chuck Russell - 03-14-2007 AH4221 3rd C. Roman Sword http://www.deepeeka.com/store/comersus_ ... oduct=5409 hmmm i had never seen this one before. is it new? its not like the other late late roman sword due to it actually has double fullers and not just lines, the hilt and pommel are different as is the chape Re: who makes a 4thc spatha? - Chariovalda - 03-16-2007 Chuck, also take a look here http://www.binsfeld-replikate.de/gladius3.htm (look at the bottom of the page). 480 euros is quite reasonable for this kind of quality from a German craftsman, I think. I am tempted to consider it myself. Re: who makes a 4thc spatha? - Marcus Mummius - 03-16-2007 Quote:Chuck, also take a look here http://www.binsfeld-replikate.de/gladius3.htm (look at the bottom of the page). Beware that Binsfeld's prices aren't correct on some pages. It says starting at 480euros, this means that his cheapest sword will cost that much. The spatha at the bottom of the page may well be a lot more expensive... Sorry :? I am tempted to consider it myselfYes, I have thought about this too ! Re: who makes a 4thc spatha? - Steve Lenz - 03-16-2007 Binsfeld´s recos are tough! He´s a very skillfull handcrafter and he is able to hit the "historic impression"! EUR 480,00 is for a german handcrafter a cheap price. (I like is "celtic spatha"! ) Re: who makes a 4thc spatha? - Marcus Mummius - 03-16-2007 Guys, not wanting to shatter your dreams but take a look at my post above... All the helmets and pugiones on his website were priced 'ab 480€' too until some time ago. Look at the prices now... Some parts on his website have incorect pricing. Send him an email and you'll see what I mean... Re: who makes a 4thc spatha? - Steve Lenz - 03-16-2007 I see your post, Marcus. (But i know also the german "usus"!") Re: who makes a 4thc spatha? - LUCIUS ALFENUS AVITIANUS - 03-16-2007 The prices of the pugiones were rectified because someone  asks him for exact prices. So, i agree, better ask him for confirmation. |
