Heraclius army organization and units names - comitatus (Marco) - 03-06-2007

Hello all.

How was organized the Roman army under Heraclius? He regrouped the forces of the Balkans and eastern provinces in Asia Minor? The names of ancient units, such as the Tertio Dalmatae, existed in his time?

Regards,
Marco.

Please try to goole "Optimates" and "Procursatores" or "Procoursatores".
You will find related subjects.
"Procursatores" were considered something like an "avantguard" unit.

Kind regards
