The BBCs Cinematic Documentaries - AthenaK - 02-06-2007

Hi!
I just watched the first of this series of six. What is everyones thoughts regarding this series?
I don't know much about Rome, but I don't think that cavalry in the time of 48 BC had stirrups yet. I am sure that the directors were aware of this, but I bet that the actors could not ride without stirrups! Tongue P

haven't seen it. Which time?

You are correct about the stirrups. Romans used a Celtic saddle instead which works just the same.

You probably mean that BBC series also aired on Discovery, Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire?
