Bonnie,
We are all humans and make mistakes.
Someone printed hastily a book in English (not me) with illustrations that have inaccuracies and many people in absence of better info followed what was available.

As for high crest I believe the there is a thread clearing things.

Kind regards

Re: Share Your Greek Artwork - Zenodoros - 03-27-2008

Dimitrios, yes I'm aware of double/triple crested helmets, but many people now seem to think that only Lokrians wore them, when of course our references for them are mainly Athenian, and it's likely they occurred all over Greece.

Stefanos, as I had expected. Smile I don't fuss over it and understand the error, it's just a little unfortunate.

Come on! We all know that 3-ple crests were for certain people and that Leonidas cellphone run out battery so never revceive the call from Annopea Pass

Kind regards

Re: Share Your Greek Artwork - JVL - 04-07-2008

A drawing I made of a hoplite (I think) throwing a spear.

Fixed the Linothrax and added another picture, a portrait of a greek soldier( made that one today). Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures, they were taken with a camera, because my scanner cannot deliver the pictures in a correct file format. The images have better colours really, on these pictures they are not so sharp.

He he,nice. He seems very relaxed...I like his right hand. Though he seems to be wearing his linothorax in the opposite direction Smile

If you have any programme like photoshop or imageready you can change the contrast...
