Salamis by Barry Strauss - TraderTrey9785 - 01-10-2007

Hi all,

Sorry for the long absence...haven't had much time to read and post on the forum. However, I just finished reading Barry Strauss' book Salamis and I found it to be a great read. It was very detailed, but written in a simple form, making the chapters very quick. Additionally, I usually find that in many books it is easy to be overwhelmed with facts unless they are repeated over and over again and Strauss does a great job of reemphasizing important points throughout the book. He also paints a vivid picture of Themistocles that is absolutely brilliant. It contains a lot of maps, but if anyone is interested in specific maneuvers and tactics I'd search for a supplemental atlas, if one can be found.

A great read nonetheless, and last I saw Border's had it on sale in the 3 for price of 2 rack.

Enjoy!
