Spidy Sense ?? - Conal - 01-08-2007 Was watching "Waking the Dead " on BBC 1 last night . A Roman Map was produced which had a "danger of ambush " area marked with a spider, which was explained as a Roman army sign for danger. Anyone heard of this ? Re: Spidy Sense ?? - Robert Vermaat - 01-08-2007 Roman road map? With details smaller than towns? Never heard of it. Sounds much like a modernism. Re: Spidy Sense ?? - Caballo - 01-08-2007 I saw it too.......good detective programme, but as regards the "Roman" details, complete and utter   .......! Re: Spidy Sense ?? - Gaius Julius Caesar - 01-08-2007 Ahh the joys of modern media. Re: Spidy Sense ?? - Carus Andiae - 01-09-2007 I thought it was a load of nonsense, and it appears I was right. It would be a daft symbol for 'danger' anyway. What were the Romans supposed to be expecting to find? Shelob? Re: Spidy Sense ?? - Conal - 01-09-2007 Spiders web as symbol of a trap ? |
