Salve!
I would like to have some kind of body protection too. I found this, it is simple and looks effective. Is there any change it could be used with a late roman impression? Thanks!

It looks very similar to some depictions from Lombard Italy and I've seen the basic shape in Byzantine art, though there it seems to be scale rather than lamellar (or at least a very different type of lame). MacDowall reconstructs this type of cuirass as early as the fourth century, but I'm not sure on what basis.
It's certainly fins for late late Roman, if you know what I mean. We have such lames and at least one full suit from Migration-era Germanic graves (the suit is from South Germany, IIRC Niederstötzingen).

It is definitely lamellar. Looks Byzantine. Should be reasonably ok for late Roman as is. Some cavalry troopers might wear this over a mail shirt.

Dan when you say late, what do you mean? Would this be acceptable for a 4th century impression?

But you must fix the plates with endings or straps.
When not it is to instable. Believe its better :wink:
