Re: Late-Roman and East Roman Armour - aitor iriarte - 12-02-2006 Sven, Even the most nicky-picky of us agree on Late period starting with the Tetrarchy. Therefore, Piazza Armerina is a Late Roman villa by all accounts! Which pics are you referring to? The mosaic is from Piazza Armerina and the detail is from the silver Theodosius' missorium (say, end of IVth century) Paul, Yes, Piazza Armerina mosics were made during the First Tetrarchy but there are some interesting (rather crude) repairs to the Great Hunt mosaic, displaying 'propeller' belts, which would be Constantine/Constantius II. I have not seen big square tabliones on cloaks earlier than Theodosius' missorium :? Aitor Re: Late-Roman and East Roman Armour - SvenLittkowski - 12-02-2006 Hi everyone! Well, thanks, so far, for your photos. But all the photos you add to your postings - I cannot use them. I need the hi-res versions, at least 3 MegaPixels, or better. Photo Submissions please to: Entries [at] TerraRomana [ Point] org or Sven [Point] Littkowski [at] Navis [Point] TerraRomana [ Point] org Please do not forget to add a small description of the costume, purpose, ethnic assignment and time frame. No problem if you have different posings. I also welcome ancient Roman items, such as bucks (for water), clepsydra (water clock), tents, ropes put together, etc.... Thanks! Sven Re: Late-Roman and East Roman Armour - aitor iriarte - 12-02-2006 Sven, Then you was talking about the pic with the people? :? If so, I'll e-mail it to you... 8) Aitor Re: Late-Roman and East Roman Armour - SvenLittkowski - 12-02-2006 Aitor Iriarte: Thanks! I am looking forward! Right now, I am working on the reconstruction of a bigger Corbita. I could use your photos a lot, I think. Let me see! Greetings, Sven Re: Late-Roman and East Roman Armour - aitor iriarte - 12-03-2006 Sven, My first e-mail has benn bounced-off should I keep that spaces in your address Sven [Point] Littkowski [at] Navis [Point] TerraRomana [ Point] org or should I reconstruct it without them Sven[Point]Littkowski[at]Navis[Point]TerraRomana[Point]org ? :? Aitor Re: Late-Roman and East Roman Armour - SvenLittkowski - 12-03-2006 Well, e-mail addresses do not contain spaces. All spaces need to be removed. Sorry, I should have said this earlier... Sven Re: Late-Roman and East Roman Armour - aitor iriarte - 12-03-2006 Well, the fact is that I thought about it, supressed the spaces and, notwithstanding, the e-mail bounced back... :? Aitor |
