Calligae Hobnails - LUCIUS ALFENUS AVITIANUS - 08-08-2006 SALVE Past month, i have found a lot (near 100) of hobnails inside a II century burial. I want to share with you the find. The head are nearly semicircular, with a diameter of 1 cm. The "body" of the head have some parallel marks caused by the different leather layers. There are two, showing a leather thickness of 4 mm. The photos i have post are probably of the point of the sole. There are soldered by the rust, and because are very near one by the other.
