Last year was about 1400 participants in fact, from ..... 22 countries !
Its the biggest viking event in Europe.

And yes you are right about the battle. Eastern style rulezzz Smile . You can hit your opponent with metal sword as strong as you want in any part of body (head as well). So people use thick padded gambesons and strong helmets etc.

I think we're going offtopic, but never mind. I know personally some people who were there last year and the year before and they told me tales, so I believe me, I believe you!
That's why I would like to go and participate. It's on my list of "What I HAVE to do before I die" :wink:

Thanks to the talents of Pete and Jim, I have to agree! We have some on our website, but the ones on this thread are all very new, and are a 'work-in-progress'.

I was actually thinking of sending some really gory US Army photos of Iraquis qith their heads blown open by .50 cal bullets....

but naaah.....
