There is actually a funny story behind this movie but I won't go through it all. Anyway, the only reason its called snakes on a plane is because Samuel L. Jackson wouldnt be part of it unless they kept that name.

It's a genius title. It's the Ronseal of movie names. Also, no one is seriously expecting it to be good, just hilariously entertaining.
