New subforum: Deepeeka - Praefectusclassis - 03-18-2006

With the arrival of Gagan, representing Deepeeka, we have opened a new subforum in Marketplace. Please keep your discussions of their products in that forum.

suggest images to go with the product - richsc - 03-18-2006

I suggest a small image to go along with each of Depeeka's products, and where possible, following up with images of the originals. This will allow everyone in Depeeka to see reference points for their reproductions.

Whoops.. can see where you have the link in, but since that itself might be inaccurate, the idea of having an image of what we see as the item sold, and perhaps its variations, as are sold to customers.

That's a great thing from Deepeeka! A very wise decision.

yes, thank you for being willing to talk directly with us reenactors and history buffs, who use your products.

One suggestion is to offer better belt plates/parts, more varieties in styles and time periods, and offer those parts seperately (not already assembled to a belt) - some of us need an additional plate or two to make the size fit better, and we can't always afford another belt just for one or two plates.

If you could also make apron buttons/studs that are flat, instead of domed (such as with your RGZM/AH6701 belt), that would be a big help.

Again, thanks for being willing to work with us and hear our suggestions.

As posted elsewhere, we would love to see the Montefortino made in a smaller size. My head is about average, at 23 in. The current production sems to be for about a 26 in. head, way too large for all except a very few. Also, red bronze would be nice.

Re: New subforum: Deepeeka - Virilis - 03-21-2006

You`re absolutely right, John!

In fact the Deepeeka Montefortino looks quite good, for example in the armae.com website. I would also buy one right away one if it only would be smaller! I am fed up with the helmets which are "one size, fits no-one".

In fact I am surprised that Caesarean era is neclected elsewhere too. Where are the good reproductions of Gladius Hispanienses (Smihel etc.)?
Good example is Osprey Publishing; In their compilation book "Caesar`s Legions" they jump right from the punic wars to the principate  ...
