Auxiliary \'from the workbench\' - Praefectusclassis - 02-26-2006

He's not finished yet, obviously needs a sword, some touch-ups and groundwork, but here's my latest rendition. It's the figure that came with a subscription to Figures International.

Very sweet! Big Grin Do you know who the actual makers are?

Re: Auxiliary \'from the workbench\' - Praefectusclassis - 02-26-2006

Dunno. It was an unmarked bag. But since that magazine seems to be published by Andrea, it's a good bet it was one of their sculptors.

Re: Auxiliary \'from the workbench\' - Jeroen Pelgrom - 02-27-2006

i've searched the site of andrea-miniatures but could not find it...

impressive Jasper! How did you do the signs on the shield?

Re: Auxiliary \'from the workbench\' - Praefectusclassis - 02-27-2006

The shield wasn't overly hard: it's engraved
I did use three shades of green, light to dark from the upper to the lower part and a few shades of yellow and yellow-gold, which was matted later with a matt varnish.

Very nice work.
Is it acrylic?

By the way do you only paint historical figurines, or also fantastic or may be for wargames.

as always, nice work that You have made.

Re: Auxiliary \'from the workbench\' - Praefectusclassis - 02-28-2006

Hi Erwan,
Yes, it is painted in acrylics, and only acrylics this time. I sometimes use enamels or oils too, but not now.
I only paint historical figures (for now), and certainly not wargames figures. I paint too rarely. It would take forever to build up an army!

@everyone
Thanks for the compliments!

Jasper,

That's some great work, you've inspired me to "branch out" my current hobby of working on model aircraft and give miniature soldiers a try. Very impressive!

Hi Trey!
Well that's good news. Always nice if someone gets inspired by ones work. Good luck on the model!

Re: Auxiliary \'from the workbench\' - Albert G Lopez - 03-25-2006

Beautifully painted! Do you have other figures that you have finished that you can show?

Two of my other ones are in the gallery on Romanarmy.com.

By the way, welcome to RAT!
