Ade, on the pic above it looks like you have the longer part of the shield pointing downwards. The originals are usually the other way round, the longer part being on the upper side.... Helps when carrying

So these shields are actually wider than they are high?

As far as I know not, but the handle is just a bit off-centred (in the vertical direction).

I still have to test out the difference caused by the offset handle myself.
By how much would you off set the handhole on a rectangular semi cilindrical scutum? I really wonder how such a shield would handle...
