Obituaries - Robert Vermaat - 09-07-2005

With the unfortunate, untimely and much regretted death of Anthrax, I was reminded of the recent passing away of Bill Mayes, founding member of the Ermine Street Guard, last August.

Would it be considered a good idea to set up an obituary section, next to the Roman impression maybe (or anywhere we want), to honour our fellow re-enactors?

Re-enacting has come of age, many thousands are active in our period alone, and the oldest mebers are approaching an age where it will become quite normal to hear from one of them passing away.

Just a thought.

Re: Obituaries - Arthes - 09-07-2005

Greetings Valerius,
yes, it would be good for friends and others to be able to post their messages of sympathy, maybe to pass on to the family of those who have left us?
Regards
Arthes

Re: Obituaries - Gashford - 09-08-2005

It gets my vote, on another forum I have seen this done and it generally works very well and is a good way of remembering members.

All the best

Thanks! I think it's a good name.

Good idea.

Anthrax was a member of a Hungarian gladiator group who accidently died while swimming in Italy. Read more here: link from old RAT
