Anthrax of Familia Gladiatoria - aitor iriarte - 09-07-2005 An ironically not while doing re-enactment! Last Monday, Anthrax, one of the leading gladiators of Familia Gladiatoria Pannonica was drowned in a swimming accident in Italy, where the group had been performing at Viladose. Notwithstanding they will keep their appointment with us for our Ludi Veleienses on next week-end. SIT TIBI TERRA LEVIS ANTHRAX! Aitor Re: Anthrax of Familia Gladiatoria - aitor iriarte - 09-07-2005 Thanks, Gioi! Yes, their comrades and us will perform in his honor I haven't got much information at the time but he wasn't doing re-enactment, he was swimming (Se ahogó mientras nadaba). The group was proceeding for Spain after a show in Italy. Never a nice thing to happen no matter how or when. We wish his family, friends and the group every success for the future and all of our thoughts for the present. Graham Re: Anthrax of Familia Gladiatoria - aitor iriarte - 09-08-2005 Thanks, Graham! I shall meet them this evening. We, the organizers of the Ludi Veleienses must thank the Familia Gladiatoria for fulfilling their appointment with us even under these extremely sad circumstances. One more proof of their high professionality :!: Aitor Re: Anthrax of Familia Gladiatoria - Tib. Gabinius - 09-08-2005 Hard and sad thing. I m sorry do read it... Who of the gladiators was he? I meet them often, but i never remembered their names... Re: Anthrax of Familia Gladiatoria - Arthes - 09-08-2005 Greetings Aitor, please pass on my best wishes and sympathies to his family and friends too. Regards Arthes My regards to his family and group. - Sangue - 09-11-2005 Was he at Hjemsted (Denmark) this year? We barely met the group as they were leaving when we arrived this year, but I feel that in a way we're "relatives" and companions because we use to have this connection albeit a brief one. My condolances. As long as you have life, let the World see you and sigh not. Few are your days here, and soon Kronos will collect his debt. - Seikilos, 1st century Re: Anthrax of Familia Gladiatoria - aitor iriarte - 09-12-2005 Thanks, folks! Anthrax was one of the best gladiators of the group. He was easy to recognize (when not dressing a helmet) because his head was clean saved. Aitor Re: Anthrax of Familia Gladiatoria - Tib.
