Advice please! Importing a Gladius to UK. - MarkNotAnthony - 01-16-2024

Salve! I need advice about importing a gladius to UK from overseas, (from outside EU). Basically will I fall foul of Customs law regarding 'curved blades'? The gladius I want has a 27 inch Mainz broad blade, 56 HRC sharp, hand forged / traditionally made, new / not an antique, but a beautifiul looking handmade peice (rashidknives / ebay). While does not fit profile of a classic 'curved' type like japanese kurtana or sabre (banned from import unless antique), it is over 50cm long and both sides of blade are in effect curved. Am I being too cautious? Or are gladii exempt? (One last line of defence might beĀ  that it's 'hand forged / traditionally made' - apparantly this makes any sword exempt, technically). Be good to here from people with experience of importing gladii! Many thanks[attachment=15900][attachment=15901][attachment=15900] Huh
