A bungled deployment at 1st Mantinea? - Michael Collins - 08-28-2019

I wonder what members here think on the deployment of the Spartans at 1st Mantinea (Thucydides 5.71.1) ?

Whose fault was it that a gap was formed in the Spartan line?
Was it the Tegeans, or as CinC, did Agis himself lead the movement of the troops too far to the right?
Afterwards was it an attempt to cover up the fault by blaming his subordinate commanders (Hipponoidas and Aristocles) for not complying with an order to redeploy to the left?

Or was the mistake made on the left?
Emerging from Pelagos wood, were the army`s left (Brasidas` veterans and the Sciritae) marching in a separate column, or separted from the army to form line to the left; and possibly deploying in a different manner to the main body?
Did that create the gap?
