Ancient Warfare X.6 - The Year of the Four Emperors - Praefectusclassis - 01-12-2017

Ancient Warfare X-6 has just headed off to the printers. We're closing out Volume Ten (as well as Josho's tenure as editor) with a treat for Roman history lovers, as the theme is focused on The Year of the Four Emperors - In a series of articles, we'll look at all of the wrangling (both political and military) between Galba, Otho, Vitellius and Vespasian (the ultimate victor).

Off-theme, we're introducing a new section called 'The Roman army in detail' (RAID - hehe), which will look at very specific questions in Roman military studies. This time, we're considering the double size of Rome's First Cohort. We're also branching out a bit from our Western history roots, with an article about the Warring States Era in China - if you'd like to read more about ancient Asia in the future, please let us know!

As always, you can find a complete summary on our website. Issue X-6 should be out around the end of January / beginning of February, so there's plenty of time to pre-order your copy, or take a subscription so you'll never miss another issue.
