Roman Textile Industry & Its Influence - richsc - 11-19-2003

Just got this through David Brown Books/Oxbow(ISBN 1842170465). It is a detailed explanation of Roman textile finds from several locations, including Mons Claudianus in Egypt. The analysis is not only archaeological, but technical in that the writers go into great depth in the mechanics of the weaves, the fibers and all that goes into making the textiles.
Apparently, the Mons Claudianus site turned up baskets of textiles that have never been fully cataloged, so there is a lot still to be learned.
