Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Titus Tiberius Crispus - 01-27-2008 Marcus, Length is the problem with the deepeeka helmets. My US hat size is 7 5/8. I measure 24 1/8" (61.27 cm) circumference, 8 5/16 (21.2 cm) length and 6 7/16 (16.35 cm) width. The helmet allows for no padding fore and rear. I have broken an H and G trying to get them to fit. Will custom order next helm from an armorer. Titus Thanks for the kind words...the braccae I ordered from La Wren's nest...am altering the cuffs as we speak! Plan on making a leather set next. Tom Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Marcus Iulius Chattus - 01-27-2008 A armorer is ever the better choice as deepeeka. I get a wonderfull Coolus-D from Nijmegen from Frisius-F, for wonderfull 5oo euro! Except you have a little, round alien-head  Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Titus Tiberius Crispus - 01-27-2008 Marcus, I agree...it's just a shame that a popular hat size requires a $1200 USD investment rather than $180 USD. I do wish Deekeeka would increase their size range. Tom Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Marcus Mummius - 01-28-2008 Quote:Marcus, Another nice picture! The problem is that deepeeka can not increase their size range. If they do that the helmets will be okay lengthwise, but even wider! They press the bowls and due to this fact, I was told, they are limited to fairly round bowls. Take a look at the available, and soon to be available, Daniyal Steelcrafts helmets. They are much better in size. About 1cm narrower and about 2cm longer. Vale, Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Gaius Julius Caesar - 01-28-2008 The Carnuntum helmet is quite narrow. Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Bran ap Maclou - 01-28-2008 Hello, here are a few photographs from our group of Britto-romans in the Stangala Site near Quimper in Britanny Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Bran ap Maclou - 01-28-2008 Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Bran ap Maclou - 01-28-2008 Well lot of fun last Week end for the seguntienses of Letavia who are the last free roman citizens in the west after Rome's falling. Bye Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Gaius Julius Caesar - 01-28-2008 Nice pictures! You seem to have a lot of Scottish links on the picture Website. Are you up here at all? Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Bran ap Maclou - 01-28-2008 Not for me, I suppose you have cookies which watch your preferences ?? Bye ! Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Libitina - 01-28-2008 I have links for casinos, to meet "hot girls in NY" and erm.. related things hock: Fab photos though! Thanks for sharing Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Marcus Mummius - 01-28-2008 Great pictures and beautiful surroundings. Quote:The Carnuntum helmet is quite narrow. It's 22cmx18cm I believe. Much better than 21cmx19cm. Vale, Jef Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Gaius Julius Caesar - 01-28-2008 True, but I won't go into details.... Once I get a proper liner finished, it will be great, I have only been wearing it with a winter hat up till now! Mind you, 22 x 18-1/2 would be perfect!! Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Dan Diffendale - 01-28-2008 Please try to discuss Deepeeka helmet bowl sizes in the appropriate thread and keep this thread for images. Thanks! Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Gaius Julius Caesar - 01-28-2008 oops! Heres an image......Maximio is the photographer, I am one of the fiersome warriors in the image!!! |
