Re: Show here your Roman soldier impression - Marcus Mummius - 04-04-2012 Re: Show here your Roman soldier impression - ANTONIVS MAGNVS - 04-04-2012 Jef those are some great shots. It's clear he used an HDR effect in Photoshop or a similar program. Either way they are fantastic! Thanks for sharing. Re: Show here your Roman soldier impression - Paul Elliott - 04-04-2012 Absolutely lovely shots. The professional skills of the photographer really stand out! Re: Show here your Roman soldier impression - Charlie - 04-04-2012 Great images Jef, I love HDR when it is used in compositions and colours like these. Re: Show here your Roman soldier impression - Robert Vermaat - 04-04-2012 Quote:Two years ago a there was a professional photographer amongst the public at one of the events my group attended.Ah! That's very good I think.. Re: Show here your Roman soldier impression - Astiryu1 - 04-04-2012 Awesome Pics... Everything just looks gritty enough to be real. Unless you just finally see the Grit. Re: Show here your Roman soldier impression - Thraces15 - 04-04-2012 Wow, very impressive pictures and great kits! Re: Show here your Roman soldier impression - Marcus Mummius - 04-04-2012 I'd like to be able to rework photos like that myself... Here's one more, I really like the composition in his picture. Re: Show here your Roman soldier impression - Gaius Julius Caesar - 04-04-2012 Great photos! Re: Show here your Roman soldier impression - agrimensor - 04-04-2012 very nice pics guys. Re: Show here your Roman soldier impression - ANTONIVS MAGNVS - 04-04-2012 Quote:I'd like to be able to rework photos like that myself... It's actually quite easy. I have photoshop and I had a trial version of Nix software that does HDR. The results were amazing and very simple to do. Lots of slider bars to adjust any number of variables. Re: Show here your Roman soldier impression - Marcus Mummius - 04-05-2012 But I believe you have to use a fairly advanced camera and the right settings to maximise the effects and get a good raw image to start with, no? Re: Show here your Roman soldier impression - ANTONIVS MAGNVS - 04-05-2012 It helps if you have a good composition and subject matter  but it can be done to any photo taken from even a cheap camera. I'm somewhat of an amateur photographer and HDR makes average pictures look amazing (if that is the effect you are going for). You can see the effect of HDR in my pictures below: http://500px.com/photo/2597494 http://500px.com/photo/3464223 http://500px.com/photo/2551504 Re: Show here your Roman soldier impression - rononmaximus - 04-08-2012 Impressive photos! Re: Show here your Roman soldier impression - Virilis - 04-12-2012 Here are some photos taken with my new shield and lorica squamata. Common miles and an officer  ... |
