It's me guarding the gates of our fortlet Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - caiusbeerquitius - 10-31-2009 Quote:This kind of kit ?Just out of curiosity: Is there any evidence for these swords and baldrics, as well as the Künzing-type greaves AFTER the 3rd c.? Looks a bit anachronistic to me... Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Evgeny - 10-31-2009 Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Cheyenne - 11-01-2009 This is not me, but they are my clothes/kit - this is Antonius, my model for all things roman as he is the right height/build for a late Roman soldier!! - All soft kit was made by me.. and the bow case & shield were decorated by me too.. http://www.flickr.com/photos/22567758@N03/2719614646/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/22567758@N03/2719610380/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/22567758@N ... 6/sizes/l/ I'm making more kit soon.. and hopefully, I will be able to show full heavy cavalry impression.. Claire Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Caballo - 11-01-2009 Some pretty flash clavii there- very nice!! Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Gaius Julius Caesar - 11-01-2009 I'll second that. I would love a tunic that well made! Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - jvrjenivs - 11-01-2009 Hi Claire, these look wonderful! Great job. Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Robert Vermaat - 11-08-2009 Today I took the opportunity of very good weather to have my daughter shoot some pictures of me in the new Late Roman tunic from Christian's Historical Reproductions. Yes, it's a bit long I guess, maybe for the next batch I'd shorten the model a bit (assuming that the smaller sizes also make for shorter sleeves, but these are OK for me). But altogether it fits me very well, the docorations are beautiful! More images here. Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - jvrjenivs - 11-08-2009 Very nice Robert. We will make a nice impression on our next event! Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Gaius Julius Caesar - 11-08-2009 Do you not hike up late tunics like the early versions, so they are above the knee? Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - gneuspartak - 11-08-2009 Robert, fantastic! You tunic is excellent! Re: Show here your roman soldier impression - Virilis - 11-08-2009 Is the "smell" still around, Robert  ? |
