RE: New Roman camp found in Germany - Simplex - 10-18-2021 The recently located (June) legionary camp at an old finding-spot at Augsburg-Oberhausen has now been dated to ca. 8 - 5 BC. https://www.br.de/nachrichten/bayern/neue-roemerfunde-in-augsburg-bringen-ueberraschung-fuer-historiker,SZfMry4 It is therefore the oldest regular camp in Bavaria . The end of this base is dated to 15/16 AD. Also at Augsburg a 15kg hoard with silver coins has been spotted. (The coins are dated to the 1st and 2nd century.) The biggest hoard of this kind in Bavaria (ever). https://www.deutschlandfunk.de/muenzen-groesster-roemischer-silberschatz-bayerns-in.2849.de.html?drn:news_id=1312981 https://www.br.de/nachrichten/bayern/groesster-bayerischer-silbermuenzschatz-in-augsburg-entdeckt,SmCcXPD Greez Siggi |
