Carsoli bronze statuette--help needed - Michael J. Taylor - 10-03-2015

I've been trying to track down this little statue for a project I am working on. Supposedly comes from the Latin colony at Carsoli. Does any one know its current location, inventory number or where it has been published?

Hi Michael,

This does indeed come from Carsoli. It's in the collection of the Museo Archeologico Nazionale d'Abruzzo in Chieti. Unfortunately, as displayed, the inventory number is not listed. The image you've got appears to come from Cianfarani, Dell'Orto & La Regina, Culture adriatiche antiche di Abruzzo e di Molise (Rome 1978) though I don't currently have access to check if there are further details there. I attach some photos from my visit to the museum in August, including two other warrior (or Hercules) figurines from the same votive deposit.

Thanks a lot for the pictures, Dan. Really valuable, as always. I had seen this, but in black and white and lo-res pictures. Thanks.
