Videos on how to draw out 3 Roman mosaic patterns - Musivarius - 07-04-2014

I've added 3 videos showing how to draw out some of the patterns in Roman mosaics. It shows the geometry underlying the patterns and allows you to draw them to a specific size of tesserae. If I were doing this as a mosaic onto a floor or baseboard this isn't how I would do it though. This works out the pattern and allows you to mark a staff, then I'd lay out the mosaic using the marks on the staff.
In the next week or so I hope to get a video up on using a staff to set one of these patterns, (there is no evidence Roman mosaicists used staffs but it seems the most logical way to work).
