ring buckle - leonardo - 02-24-2014 I don't know if there is some consensus about the ring buckles of late romans. But I saw this picture and thought it could be a solution. What do you think? May be if the lower end is tucked under the belt on the right side it should look very similar to the Dura-Europos frescoes [attachment=9117]IMG_2850819824223-1.jpg[/attachment] ? ring buckle - M. Naso - 02-25-2014 I did not say, they are clearly shown, but AFAIK there are no depictions of them tucked in like on the first picture. I've always seen them symmetrical on friezes. |
