I need to determine the origin of this warrior imprinted on an oil lamp.
I dont know from what period it is but I suspect Hellenistic.
It was found in Ashkelon present day Israel.

Judging by the round hole, the dished shape and the thickness, I'd say it was the top of an oil lamp. That's probably a Thracian gladiator on your fragment, or perhaps a Murmillo. The photo above shows a boxer.

I agree, except for the type. He looks to me like a left-handed hoplomachus. He seems to be holding a straight sword and a round, deep-dished shield, and his helmet has an arched crest rather than the squared-off murmillo type.

Hoplomachus gladiator. Later 1st to second century AD.
