Complementary Journal Access. - Vindex - 04-21-2013 ...but watch out for the VAT! Ouch £6 on a £30 article... :o ad: Complementary Journal Access. - Robert Vermaat - 02-18-2015 I'm sure we discussed this topic before but I failed to find it. Therefore I revived this one, because of the anouncement of Michael Taylor that his article was available online: Quote:The paper is now available on my academia page. I think it's a good thing that modern article are more and more available onlineToo bad it costs us $33 to read it. Which i think is a pretty hefty price for 21 pages (no doubt of good quality), when you think of the fact that the publication was already paid for once. I applaud the rising availability of books and articles on the internet. However, most of the free information consists of outdated articles and even older books, while up to date information is hidden away behind paysites. The effect of this development is already visible. Long-since disproven theories are again repeated in open discussion, due to the availablity of the information to those who seek it. Those who need to be informed are unable to get the information they need (at least not without paying relatively large sums of money). Complementary Journal Access. - Gunthamund Hasding - 02-18-2015 Robert fully agree plus a lot of this I am paying through my taxes being an European citizen as long as the writer is writing an article, book or whatever and he is paid by an European state and he is doing this in his work time everything should be freely accessible online, if you want a book extra costs should be charged but I consider I already paid for the info I know is not so easy, and I know a lot of you will disagree with me and come with other opinions but I DO NOT own any rights for my research but the one who are paying for this Complementary Journal Access. - Lyceum - 02-21-2015 A selection of papers from the British School of Rome, free for a while. There's a good and interesting spread here: http://journals.cambridge.org/action/displaySpecialArticle?jid=ROM&bespokeId=12140 Complementary Journal Access. - Robert Vermaat - 02-23-2015 Quote: free for a while.Apparently not from where I live. :-( |
