Identification of Episemon on Greek shield - MaterCastrorum - 11-13-2013

:?: Our university museum has opened an exhibit on Greek, Roman, & Phoenician commerce and warfare. We have a replica Greek shield on loan with a bull's head. Does anyone know the city or location represented by the bull's head or was this episemon in wide use? Thank you!
Mater Castrorum [Title given to Faustina, wife of Marcus Aurelius, who accompanied the emperor on his military campaigns & was held in high esteem by Roman soldiers]

Euboea means "Island of Fine Cattle" and I believe that their shields bore a bull's head. Another city state that featured a bull's head on their shields was Crete.
