Shoulder padding for segmenta - Buster - 01-02-2013

Hello.
I read where Bishop mentions that segmenta was designed to be worn over ample padding, which is logical given the shape of the segmenta.
My question is, how much padding is required to wear segmenta comfortably and correctly?
I've looked at the helpful subarmalis thread, and everyone seems to be using relatively lightly padded garments that still follow the slope.
Bishop mentions the padding should "obviate" the slope of the shoulders and raise the segmenta up on the neck. Is this an overestimation of the amount of padding needed?
Thanks for any help!

It was trial and error for me to get it right. You want to keep the shoulder plates up and the chest plates nice and square. I think it will be different for each person. I know one of my shoulders is lower than the other so when I have suit jackets tailored they compensate for it.
