This image, taken from a mid 2nd early 3rd AD mosaic found in Turkey. I just wondered if anyone had seen any other evidence of this type of quiver, aside from mosaics? I wonder if it is only associated with mythological figures of whether it was a standard type of the time?

Do we know this to be a quiver? A capsa, or document case looked similar to this mosaic. Is the determination that it is a quiver based on other things shown on the mosaic?

I'll dig out my photo again as I cropped it just to show the quiver. It's Psyche taking Eros bow and arrows, she's just lifted his bow and is about to get the quiver. Fairly definate that it is a quiver, I'm sure I have seen other images from mosaics with this design of quiver. I'll look them up and post them.

This photo I took in the Zwiss(Celtic) Hallein museum.
These are reproductions of quivers. And I think the period is something like La Tene I...
I am afraid I can't say much more about it, but if you like I can ask around for you...

Here are a couple finds for Duros. 3rd Century. One is labeled a quiver (the red one), while the other is labelled a bag. Not sure how the quiver designation was made, however there were intact arrows (feathers and wood and all) found at Duros.

I wonder what the Hallein museum pieces were based on? I'll try to find the other examples when I get back to the workshop after the weekend.
