Re: scabbard from carnuntum - Robert - 06-24-2012

Good grief! Excellent work! Great detail and beautiful inlay work. Is that enemal?

Re: scabbard from carnuntum - munazio planco - 06-26-2012

Robert i use a particular enamel that is specific for the material like metals,it is a "cold enalmel"(sorry for my horrible english) and became strong after two day...after is impossible to destroy on the plate.

Re: scabbard from carnuntum - munazio planco - 06-26-2012

ps....enamel is only the red color..the silver is silver 925

Check out Efcolor (low melt enamel powder).

Re: scabbard from carnuntum - Crispvs - 07-05-2012

Very nice work indeed!

Far too many of the uncommon plain sheaths are seen in re-enactment (cost being the perfectly justifiable reason of course) so it is very nice to see a good reconstruction of a particularly nice one to remind people that not all (or even the majority of) dagger sheaths were plain.
Have you thought about decorating the front grip plate with silver as well?

Sorry not to have seen this until now. Again, well done on a very nice piece of work!
