Quick Latin question: annus horribilis - Epictetus - 06-14-2012 I understand the famous phrase "annus horribilis" is translated as "horrible year" or "year of horrors." How would one say "horrible week" or "week of horrors"? Thanks! Re: Quick Latin question: annus horribilis - D B Campbell - 06-14-2012 Quote:How would one say "horrible week" or "week of horrors"?The Romans didn't really go in for "weeks", but I guess it would be hebdomas horribilis. Re: Quick Latin question: annus horribilis - M. Demetrius - 06-14-2012 Would it work to say "7-day horror" instead? |
