Salve,
I'm considering the purchase of a spatha. It's a decent sword at a good price...but the poor thing is just nekkid. I have the capabilities to to the wood and leather parts of an acceptable soldier-grade scabbard, but I just haven't the abilities or the shop to produce the brass bits. If I can get them from someone else I can make it all work.
Is there someone in the forae from whom these might be purchased?

Well, you could contact Matt Lukes through his marketplace subforum. He has a couple of 'brass scabbard bits' offered for sale.

Darren,
If the spatha is for your sixth century AD impression, you should be aware that both blades and especially handles changed a lot over the five hundred years between the period most suppliers cater for and the sixth century AD. This is equally true of scabbards.
Therefore if you are looking for brass for the type of brass fittings you would see on scabbards featuring four ring suspension, then these would be around five hundred years out of date for a sixth century impression.
If, of course, you are planning on doing a first or early second century AD impression then brass openwork locket and chape fittings would be fine.

If it is for a later period scabbard then I can make the relevent fittings (mouth, slider and chape...see my posts elsewhere showing examples of my scabbard work) but I need the scabbard itself to work with as they're custom made rather than off the shelf.
