Roman Maniple Standards during Second Punic War - Polybian Fan - 10-12-2010

Apparently the very first maniple standards were some hay tied to a spear.

By the Imperial time of course, the maniple /century standard is the one with the mand, plaques discs etc carried by a signifier wearing an animal skin.

Does any one know what the maniple standard was during the Second Punic war? And was the guy carrying it wearing an animal skin?
