The Dutch limes (vanity of vanities) - Jona Lendering - 08-15-2010

If you can read Dutch, you may like this piece. That is, indeed, an interview with, ahem, me and my colleague Arjen Bosman, and it is indeed about a book we will soon publish.

Yet, I think we say some pretty clever things about the lack of cooperation between archaeologists and historians (the absence of which creates problems), the politics of limes research (the importance of the limes is overstressed because in a uniting Europe, transnational research receives more funds), and the importance of Gallia Belgica (a booming economy that was the foundation of future Austrasia).

BabelFish English here; I wonder what Arjen will think of the fact that his name is rendered as Ears Bunch Man.
