Is it a Greek-television documentary? Would be great to see it Stateside, you don't usually see such good-looking stuff on our documentaries... not on the national channels, anyway.

The aim is to avoid the "skinhead martial Miltiades" that notorious channel dare to show :evil:
I will let you know and show photos when its done.
But the plan is to give English subtitles so who knows.

I was hoping for more accurate reconstructions myself. The clothing in particular is very wrong and the Spara shield isn't correctly made. The pelta, Sagris and kopis are not typlical Persian weapons and the standard is thought not to be Persian.
Well done on the effort though!

I am not sure where I saw it ,perhaps trawling through Flikr, but there is an akinakes scabbard of wood which was supposed to have been found in Egypt. In shape it is pretty close to those in the Behsitun reliefs. It was dated to mid 6th-4th century BC. In outline it is similar also to the gold sheathed example in the British Museum. Has anyone else seen this image.

Yes, it is in the British museum. You can also see them suspended from the blets of the figures at Persepolis. Several have been found, in various states of preservation and made from various materials.

We couldn't have a descent akinakes in time and computer specialist promised to improve the spara-shield and clothing colours.
The "sfagano" sword is based on Attic pottery.
The saggaris was mostly Skythian but Herodotus talks of the "Sakae" in Marathon.
Our tailor had the "brilliant" idea to try and imitate the "robes of Persepolis" and seems to have failed.
We do have have though men with "anaksyridae" trousers and tight fitting chitons - sorry don't have the photos and headgear was also based on attic pottery.

Hello guys, wow, this sounds fantastic. I would love to find out more about this. Here is an accurate representation of the Persian. This is Me in my armor with a Sagaris. But I also made the Kopis as well. I will up post both images for you to see. The wicker shield is an inaccurate use in virtually all shown images. Those were shield walls. The actual Persian Citizen Levies and the Immortals carried either the Solid Violin shaped shield or the Crescent Shield or the Hoplon style shield. This is the round shaped hoplon style shield. I would love to know more about this project.
