John Maddox Roberts "Hannibal\'s Children" - Caius Fabius - 05-29-2002

John Maddox Roberts new book is the first of a series of speculative fiction, where Hannibal defeated the Romans, and gave them three choices, the complete distruction of all Romans, or submit to Carthage under the yoke, or exile from Italy.
It's now 100 years later and the exiles return to a Mediterranean ruled by Carthage, and three Macedonian empires. It was amusing reading, and it get's into the spirit of what we'd like to imagine Roman people would be like. Lots of interesting twists on history are included, and it would be a interesting guide for some speculative Wargame campaign!
