Weapons from Olynthus - Archelaos - 06-14-2009 Does anybody know what weapons were published by Robinson in his 10th volume of Excavations at Olynthus? Re: Weapons from Olynthus - D B Campbell - 06-16-2009 Quote:Does anybody know what weapons were published by Robinson in his 10th volume of Excavations at Olynthus?I don't have the volume ("Metal and minor miscellaneous finds") to hand, but I know that his Section VII, "Arms and Armour", encompassed 246 arrowheads of many types (mostly bronze, and including the famous triple-barbed "Philip" arrowheads), 36 spearheads (mostly iron), about 500 lead sling bullets (some with inscriptions), and a decorated shield rim. (The volume itself has all sorts of domestic items, jewellery, toilet items and tools.) Hope that helps. Re: Weapons from Olynthus - Archelaos - 06-19-2009 Thanks! |
